| The concept |
|
| The concept of The 220 Soft WorkSkills Initiative is to provide a free to use service for people within council communities who, for whatever reason, are not eligible to gain access to support until they have been either unemployed for some time or in receipt of means tested benefits. So, this programme could prevent people unnecessarily becoming long term unemployed. |
WorkSkills can both change and address this situation by providing people with a route to sustainable employment. |
| To enable consistency and impartiality, a set of products with an assessment and an exam has been developed. The aim is to establish peoples' progress in their knowledge of the skills and information required to enable a positive outcome on their journey from welfare to work. |
| For those who need it, there is also a comprehensive resource for newcomers to the UK, covering culture, customs, religion, travel, health, the NHS, employment, benefits and more, to help them confidently settle and thrive in British life. |
| This is part of our ADAPT, Connect, and Guarantee Your Future programme which is an approach that builds on the government's initiatives to support individuals with barriers to work. Also, the WSI can support the NEET group. |
